AI Investment Diary – Vol. 1
AI Investment Diary #1: Why I’m Trusting My $100,000 Portfolio to a Custom AI
Introduction: Why I’m Entrusting My Fortune to an AI
Hello, and welcome to the first entry in my AI investment diary. I’m the administrator of this site.
For years, I’ve devoured investment books, watched expert videos on YouTube, and thought, “This is it!” as I managed my assets on my own.
But to be frank, I haven’t achieved any significant success.
I’d jump in thinking “It’s time to buy!” only to buy at the peak. I’d sell in a panic thinking “It’s over…” only to sell at the bottom. Intellectually, I understood the importance of “long-term, dollar-cost averaging, and diversification,” but I found myself swayed by daily news and market fluctuations, repeating emotional trades… Does any of this sound familiar? It’s strange, because in other areas of my life, like planning complex trips, I’m meticulous. I’ve even written a detailed 10-day luxury Japan itinerary based on data. But when it comes to money, emotion takes over.
Is it simply impossible for an average person like me to beat the pros and the market? This question is why I’m starting this AI investment diary.
A feeling of resignation has been lingering in the back of my mind for a long time.
So, why am I starting a new challenge now?
The answer lies in the theme of this blog: “Asset Management with AI (Artificial Intelligence).”
The Declaration: Starting My AI Investment Diary with 0,000
Let me be honest. My current assets are… well, I can’t tell you the exact amount (lol).
But to make this challenge feel real for you, let’s set the starting capital at $100,000.
I intend to take this $100,000 (which represents my real, entire life savings) to the next stage, guided by a custom-built AI investment program that I developed myself.
This isn’t just an experiment. This is a serious challenge with my future on the line.
On this blog, I will document everything for this AI investment diary—the AI’s analysis, my investment decisions, and the portfolio’s performance, both wins and losses—without holding anything back.
What Kind of AI Program Is It?
You might be wondering, “Is this some shady auto-trading bot?”
My AI is more like a “super-intelligent co-pilot.” It utilizes APIs from Google’s generative AI, Gemini, to analyze vast amounts of data—market news, financial reports, technical indicators—and presents the probabilities of “Buy,” “Sell,” or “Hold” decisions.
The final decision is still mine to make, but I will no longer be making emotional trades. My goal is to make rational investments based on data and probability. This program is brand new, and just like this AI investment diary, the AI will be continuously updated and improved.
My Toolkit: The Gear and Knowledge for This AI Challenge
This AI investment diary requires more than just capital. It demands the right set of tools, hardware, and knowledge. Here’s a look at the essential components that make this project possible.
Building the Command Center: Hardware
Running complex AI models requires some serious computing power. If you’re thinking about building your own ‘co-pilot’, here’s the kind of high-performance hardware you should consider.
